Blue Ribbon
On Tuesday, September 15, 2009 U.S. Secretary of Education, Arne Duncan, announced the list of schools that have been awarded Blue Ribbon Schools honors per the No Child Left Behind legislation. It is our pleasure to announce that Haaff Elementary School has achieved the status of a Blue Ribbon School. The Blue Ribbon Schools Program honors public and private schools that are either academically superior or that demonstrate dramatic gains in student achievement to high levels. In addition to being honored at a ceremony in Washinton D.C., our school will receive a plaque and a flag signifying our Blue Ribbon status. It is through the hard work and dedication of our staff and students that we have received this award. Thank you to all of our parents for your past and continued support.
Welcome
Be sure and read our Welcome Page for additional information on our school!
Picture tour of Haaff
We have many parents who come to Haaff to see the building and the classrooms, so I have created two quick picture tours of Haaff Elementary; the first as two PowerPoint presentations (two because of file size limitations), the second is a slide show on the Media Center page. The pictures are from the end of June, so classrooms are in the process of being cleaned and obviously, are not setup for students.
I am going to work on creating and posting a video tour of the building. If I can do it, I will try and have it done by the end of July.
The PowerPoint files are on the Media Center page, at the bottom of the section called Class Files and listed as Haaff Tour Pt. 2 and Haaff Tour (this is the first part). These are large files, so if you have a dial-up connection to the Internet, it will take a long time to download them. The second slide show is also on the Media Center page, at the bottom in the box called Discussion Topics (I'm not sure why it's there). Click on Charles Davis - Haaff Tour and the slide show will begin automatically (clicking on the circle will stiop it).
I hope this helps when considering enrolling your children at Haaff.
